Pouring it on: Mark Steyn's take on Palin

Five reasons why Palin is an outstanding pick for McCain's VP pick (from National Review's Mark Steyn):

First, Governor Palin is not merely, as Jay describes her, "all-American", but hyper-American. What other country in the developed world produces beauty queens who hunt caribou and serve up a terrific moose stew? As an immigrant, I'm not saying I came to the United States purely to meet chicks like that, but it was certainly high on my list of priorities. And for the gun-totin' Miss Wasilla then to go on to become Governor while having five kids makes it an even more uniquely American story. Next to her resume, a guy who's done nothing but serve in the phony-baloney job of "community organizer" and write multiple autobiographies looks like just another creepily self-absorbed lifelong member of the full-time political class that infests every advanced democracy.

Second, it can't be in Senator Obama's interest for the punditocracy to spends its time arguing about whether the Republicans' vice-presidential pick is "even more" inexperienced than the Democrats' presidential one.

Third, real people don't define "experience" as appearing on unwatched Sunday-morning talk shows every week for 35 years and having been around long enough to have got both the War on Terror and the Cold War wrong. (On the first point, at the Gun Owners of New Hampshire dinner in the 2000 campaign, I remember Orrin Hatch telling me sadly that he was stunned to discover how few Granite State voters knew who he was.) Sarah Palin and Barack Obama are more or less the same age, but Governor Palin has run a state and a town and a commercial fishing operation, whereas (to reprise a famous line on the Rev Jackson) Senator Obama ain't run nothin' but his mouth. She's done the stuff he's merely a poseur about. Post-partisan? She took on her own party's corrupt political culture directly while Obama was sucking up to Wright and Ayers and being just another get-along Chicago machine pol (see his campaign's thuggish attempt to throttle Stanley Kurtz and Milt Rosenberg on WGN the other night).

Fourth, Governor Palin has what the British Labour Party politician Denis Healy likes to call a "hinterland" - a life beyond politics. Whenever Senator Obama attempts anything non-political (such as bowling), he comes over like a visiting dignitary to a foreign country getting shanghaied into some impenetrable local folk ritual. Sarah Palin isn't just on the right side of the issues intellectually. She won't need the usual stage-managed "hunting" trip to reassure gun owners: she's lived the Second Amendment all her life. Likewise, on abortion, we're often told it's easy to be against it in principle but what if you were a woman facing a difficult birth or a handicapped child? Been there, done that.

Fifth, she complicates all the laziest Democrat pieties. Energy? Unlike Biden and Obama, she's been to ANWR and, like most Alaskans, supports drilling there.
Sixth (see Kathleen's link to Craig Ferguson below), I kinda like the whole naughty librarian vibe.

Naughty librarian. Hehe.

McCain/Palin visit troops in Iraq

Palin even visited injured soldiers in Landstuhl Germany, where the Obamessiah wouldn't go (without his cameras).

Another YouTube video, nicely done. If you don't want to watch the entire video, just watch the last 30 seconds about Hussein's views on the surge.

Palin on YouTube: Integrity/Leadership/Courage

Very nice. I have hope for America once again.

How could you NOT love a woman P candidate that likes to shoot automatic weapons, has gutted a moose, and almost won a beauty pageant! God Bless America.

Thoughts on McCain/Palin vs Obama/Biden

My wife's nephew, who works for the obamessiah campaign, says he thinks the Obamas are genuine.

If by genuine, you mean genuine Marxists, I believe he is correct. I believe we are defined by our associations, especially long-term ones.

The difference between McCain and Obama is that McCain's past is largely known and mostly public knowledge.

Why is Obama trying to downplay his _long-term_ past associations with America- and white-haters(Rev. Wright), with convicted criminals(Tony Rezko), with domestic terrorists(William Ayers), with communist sympathizers (Frank Marshall Davis), and his training by a socialist rabble rouser (Saul Alinsky)? For God's sake, he announced his candidacy in Ayers' living room! Doesn't sound like just a 'neighbor' who's kids play together. (BTW, Ayers' kids are all grown, doubt their kids play together).

Why is the Obama campaign (in a very organized way - see Politico) trying to shut down ANY criticism of Obama, rather than honestly answer the questions we have about his past?

My wife's nephew also thinks Biden will destroy Palin in the debates. I say the debates don't really matter to anyone who already follows the campaign.

Regarding the debates, the 1960 debate was the first televised debate. JFK was a pretty boy, much slicker than Nixon (much like Obama vs. McCain) on camera, and the public was taken aback by his attractiveness. I think America is smarter now, they want substance, which is why so many intelligent people don't support Obama. He's very smooth, very articulate, very good with a teleprompter, but when he's not making a prepared speech, he, uh, well, uh, he, he ...doesn't do very well.

And what Obama does say policy-wise, most of us don't want to hear:
  • We DON'T want more taxes to support a failed social agenda
  • we DON'T want to 're-distribute' income from the rich to the poor (at least, not thru a socialist government)
  • we DON'T want to 'penalize' big oil (other countries actually subsidize their oil producers!!)
  • we DON'T want to lay down and let the rest of the world run over us (politically, financially or militarily).
Even the previous messiah of the Democratic party, JFK, understood how tax cuts work to benefit the economy, creating jobs for the everyday joe. It's been said JFK would be part of the other party if he were in politics today. I really doubt it, but it is a reflection of how far left the Democrats have moved since the 1960's.

Better start working on plan B if you're an Obama supporter. Seriously. People want change, but we don't want the change to socialism and bigger government with its big spending.

It's going to be a tight race, only because of the support Obama gets from the gushing leftmedia. I have the tube on right now, and all the liberal syncophants are saying what a poor choice Palin is. They are hands down wrong. I don't think she'll pull many of the hard-core Hillary(who interned with Saul Alinsky as well) supporters, but McCain is appealing to who his own base SHOULD be -- conservatives.

Many, many conservatives who were going to sit this one out now don't have to be (as) drunk and hold their nose (as much) to pull the lever for McCain in Nov. Perhaps Palin can influence McCain into more conservative stances on immigration and the myth of global warming?

They're also saying Palin "isn't ready to be President." She has a year more experience as a politician than Obama, but her's is as an executive, not as a legislator. And she's more mainstream than Obama (or McCain, for that matter), sharing views with a majority of Americans outside the coastlines. She also has a reputation as a reformer and unimpeachable record (I've been following her for awhile).

If nothing else, the next couple of months should be interesting.

McCain/Palin - new hope for America?

McCain isn't the moron political strategist we thought. Picking Sarah Palin as his VP running mate is true brilliance, on many points:
  • She's a true conservative. She has a special needs child (born this year). She knows the true meaning of the sanctity of life, obviously anti-abortion.
  • She's a woman. If not outright stealing the Hillary supporters, McCain will sure make them think about voting for McCain/Palin.
  • She's really up-to-date on energy issues. She's pro-drilling in ANWR.
  • She's not afraid to take on establishment Republicans. She has been fighting corruption in her own party in her state.
  • She's not afraid to take on Washington. She's definitely a Washington outsider. She is suing the Federal Gov'mint over its designation of the polar bear as an endangered species.
  • She appears to be someone with real cajones, real principles, real morals.
In short, someone we need very badly.

Apparently, the timing of the announcement the morning after the obmessiah's Mt. Olympus speech is brilliant as well. The wires are buzzing with the noise of the pick, drowning out the resonance of BHO's acceptance speech last night.

I'm not sure of her stance on illegal immigration, but if her other stances are any indication, she should be right in line with other true conservatives.

Brilliant.

Bravo, John McCain. Bravo.

IBD: Media Blackout On A Far-Left Past

A post today at INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY reiterates what we've been sayin' all along: the obamessiah is a radical, anti-american, white-hatin' liberal, and the Leftmedia is mum.

Democrats in Denver tried to introduce Barack Obama as a moderate, whitewashing his radical past, and the media are helping them by following the fictional script.

On the eve of the Democratic National Convention, CNN, for one, aired an in-depth profile called "Obama Revealed." In fact, it revealed nothing except for CNN's bias.

The special, hosted by White House correspondent Suzanne Malveaux, started off by asking, "Who is Barack Obama?" — something not a few voters would like to know. It then let the presumptive Democrat nominee mostly answer the question "in his own words."

We learn he earned the nickname "Barry O'Bomber" on his high school basketball team, and that he was a "top student" at Harvard law school. Omitted from the saintly biography are hard truths about his radical ties. Voters hear nothing of his friendship with former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers or the late black Communist poet Frank Marshall Davis.

There's no mention of the radical training he received from groups founded by the late socialist agitator Saul Alinsky, or how Obama later taught Alinsky's tactics as a college professor. (Connect the dots note: Hillary Clinton interned with Alinsky, so they're on par with one another.)

CNN glossed over his late Kenyan father's own radical politics by leaving it up to him to describe his "reputation."

"My father had this reputation as being this larger-than-life figure, charismatic, very smart, very engaging," Obama said, "and all those things were true."

It's also true that as a Nairobi bureaucrat, his father proposed a socialist economic plan for Kenya so radical it got him blackballed from the government. CNN left that part out, while also omitting Obama's recent support of Raila Odinga, a Communist-trained politician in Nairobi.

The one smudge in the network's otherwise glowing portrait — Obama's decades-long relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright — was quickly dispatched by noting he had distanced himself from his radically anti-American preacher. However, Obama's abiding faith in black liberation theology — a Marxist version of Christianity — was never even identified by the network.

CNN's coverage is par for the course. There's been a media blackout on Obama's radical past throughout the presidential campaign.

Take the story about his early mentor Davis, a known member of the Communist Party USA. No mainstream media reported on the relationship until Aug. 2, and that was only after IBD and a handful of conservative blogs weighed in on the controversy.

The Associated Press broke the silence with the article, "Writer offered a young Barack Obama advice on life." But it still does not tell the whole story. AP describes Davis as a "left-leaning black journalist" with "allegedly anti-American views" — when in fact, his Soviet allegiances and hatred for America are well documented in congressional reports and his own poems.

The Washington Post did AP one better. It managed to write an entire story on the controversy without identifying Davis by name. (It did have room to mention "the vast right-wing conspiracy" though.)

The establishment media have also ignored a long-lost article by Obama's father that reveals his communist leanings.

The 1965 paper by Barack Hussein Obama Sr., which called for Soviet-style expropriation and other extreme measures, was cited by Politico.com, a Web-based spin-off of the media elite in Washington. But it failed to quote any of his Marxist prescriptions, and in a shocking whitewash, concludes that "his central aim was moderate and conciliatory."

Many of these radical connections are cataloged in a new book, "The Obama Nation," which remains atop the national bestseller list. But CNN and other major news outlets have spent more time investigating its author than Obama, while parroting the Obama camp's line that the book is a "series of lies."

The Post in its coverage repeated word-for-word some of the talking points contained in a 40-page rebuttal of the book by Obama, essentially farming out the fact-checking to a political campaign.

It also noted that the book was being "pushed by conservative book clubs that buy in bulk to drive up sales," and that its publisher, Simon & Schuster, employs "former GOP strategist Mary Matalin" as an editor.

It's plain the media are protecting Obama from his radical past, insulating him from the kind of scrutiny voters need to make an informed choice in November. He got the same pass from the press running for the Senate. In fact, Obama in his latest autobiography said he couldn't believe his "good fortune."

"I was the beneficiary of unusually — and at times undeservedly — positive press coverage," he confessed in "The Audacity of Hope."

He skated into office then. Absent proper media vetting, he'll also skate into the Oval Office. But then that may be the plan.

Well said.

FWIW, much of this is also detailed in "The Case Against Barack Obama" a recently released volume. I recommend you read up and spread the word on the obamessiah.

Obamessiah's plan: total disarmament

I guess we'll be able to save all this money and give it to the po' folk. From the horses' mouth:

Rumors abound that the dhimmicrats are trying to get this pulled from YouTube. I haven't been able to substantiate that, but I'm guessing that ANY evidence of what BHO really stands for will be suppressed by the Leftmedia until after Nov. 4.

Batman and Rush: Why McCain will win

In this entertaining essay from the American Spectator, Jeffrey Lord discusses how Americans really choose the POTUS: gut instinct (or the reptilian brain):

This election has already been decided. It's over. The winner is John McCain.
Citing the popularity of Batman: The Dark Knight and Rush Limbaugh, Lord says the American public has a track record of selecting the "cowboy," the risk-taker, the man of action. Not the "thinker."

Why is Batman so popular? Why is Rush so popular? And what in the world does the popularity of either have to do with asserting as fact that Senator McCain has already won the presidential election over Senator Obama?

The answer is: you. "You" defined as a cultural American.

Batman is the cinematic (and comic book) personification of the way Americans like to see themselves.

Rush Limbaugh is the Batman of the airwaves.

While other cultures put a premium on thinking (the French) or order (the Germans), Americans want our presidents to respond just as we do in our culture -- with their gut.

A roll call of winners perceived by the voters of their day (in direct comparison to their opponents) as action oriented, candidates who fearlessly went with their gut, include Andrew Jackson, Lincoln, the two Roosevelts, Wilson, Truman, Ike, JFK, Reagan, Clinton and George W. Bush. The sharper the image of a candidate as a serious thinker, a man who hesitates or who is perceived more as a talker than a doer, the more certain his defeat -- as with a John Quincy Adams, a Thomas E. Dewey, an Adlai Stevenson, a McGovern, Dole, Dukakis, Gore, or Kerry.

And, my bet is, Obama.

Indeed. Read the entire article here.(h/t The Muslim Question)

Monday wisdom from The Gipper

“Our military strength is a prerequisite to peace, but let it be clear we maintain this strength in the hope it will never be used, for the ultimate determinant in the struggle that’s now going on in the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas, a trial of spiritual resolve, the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish, the ideals to which we are dedicated.”

Lowerusgas.com a scam?

I just saw a commercial on CNN for a website called "lowerusgas.com." The commercial features a woman screeching "The oil companies are making record profits." It's a bit troubling, and completely misdirected, to blame the oil companies for high gas prices, and their profits are irrelevant, IMHO.

Forgive me for asking, but what the heck do you get for your 'membership?' Information? I can get that free by blogging on the internet.

There's no stated policy or goals of the organization, other than to 'stand up for Americans.' I also read their membership info, and politicians that have accepted more than $100 from energy companies and oil company executives need not apply. Hehe.

I can't tell what policy this group is advocating (like "Drill Here, Drill Now, Lower Prices"), if any, but it does appear they consider 'big oil' to be evil.

Looks like a not-so-well orchestrated scam to me. The writing on the website isn't particularly well done, the site is a bit disorganized. These guys are amateurs, but their empty rhetoric on the site may be just enough to get people to fork over their cold hard cash. After all, the Obamessiah's been doing it for some time now.

I'm keeping my $50, thank you.

Robert Spencer: Stealth Jihad or Hysteria?

In an article today at FrontPage magazine, Robert Spencer ponders whether the recent events at Tyson Foods in Tennessee are part of a greater 'stealth jihad' or a single, innocuous event.

During the recent Tyson Chicken controversy, I published an article at FrontPage in which I argued that Tyson and the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) should not have agreed to make Eid al-Fitr a paid day off for employees at the Tyson plant in Shelbyville, Tennessee, on the grounds that it set a bad precedent for accommodation of Islamic practices at a time when the Muslim Brotherhood is pressing forward a stealth jihad agenda of trying to impose Islamic Sharia law bit by bit and make American businesses and individuals grow used to the idea that Muslims must have special accommodation. (emphasis mine)

...The main problem -- and I didn’t make this fully clear in my FrontPage article, as I thought it was too obvious to mention -- is that Labor Day is an American holiday(emphasis mine) . Dropping an American holiday that we all share in favor of an Islamic holiday that only Muslims celebrate is just the opposite of what we should be doing for immigrants -- any and all immigrants. We should be expecting that if immigrants come here, they will become American. Not only does the taking away of Labor Day make that assimilation less likely, but it also prevents any Americans who may work at the Shelbyville Tyson plant from observing this American holiday if they wish to do so.

Tyson has now reinstated Labor Day in Shelbyville, and that’s all to the good. But the precedent has been set, and will certainly be followed in the future.
And why will it be followed in the future? Because of the Muslim Brotherhood agenda. That agenda, again, in their own words, is “a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

That’s from “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America,” a 1991 presentation by Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram.

It is a genuine initiative, and it encompasses many of the most influential Islamic groups in the U.S. -- many of which are named in the same memorandum, including the Muslim American Society, the Muslim Students Association, the Islamic Society of North America, and many others. It is proceeding not by terrorist attacks, but through a stealth jihad that has up to now consisted primarily of trying to compel American businesses and other institutions to make special accommodation for Islamic practices: workplaces have had to change their schedules to allow time for Islamic prayer, airports and universities have installed footbaths to accommodate Islamic ablutions, etc.

I can't imagine an American corporation or college making special accomodations to Christians for extra prayer breaks, a quiet, separate prayer room, etc.

It seems the liberal left, the mainstream media, and the jihadis all have something in common, the destruction of the capitalistic, democratic republic that we call the United States of America. For now, they may make good bedfellows. Sometime in the future, however, they will clash, over the islamist anti-gay agenda (gasp!), their anti-feminist agenda (gasp!) and their desire to regulate every aspect of our daily living, moving us back into their seventh-century barbaric culture.

American Thinker: Why Barack Obama will not win

From American Thinker comes this galvanized listing of why the Obamessiah can't win November 4 (h/t Bookworm Room):
  • Obama is too young and inexperienced, having exactly zero accomplishments in his personal, professional, academic and political lives
  • Obama is too liberal for mainstream Americans. His tax and spend politics may have been popular in the 1930's or '60's, but not now.
  • Obama is too race-conscious, which could be the final deciding factor. America is just fed up with the race-baiting, double-standard of the obamessiah campaign.
This, in a nutshell, is what we've been saying about BHO for some time now. He won't get elected in spite of the love affair with himself and the Leftmedia.

Monday wisdom from the Gipper

“I have always believed that America is strongest and freest and happiest when it is truest to the wisdom of its Founders. In Federalist 45, James Madison wrote that ‘The powers delegated by the Constitution to the Federal Government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State Government are numerous and indefinite.’ Or to put it another way, ‘We the People.’ As long as we remember these words—’We the People’ —and make them our guide, so long as we remember that America has always drawn its inspiration from the people and has always been governed best when governed most by those governments closest to the people, America will remain strong and free, the envy of the world.” —Ronald Reagan

At last: a sign for the Obamessiah!

(h/t to Hot Air): The obamessiah movement hopes to have all their 'members' take up this sign, as an indication of who's part of the movement.

It's been suggested this sign might represent the size of your orifice AFTER the Obamessiah gets done raising taxes.

An alternative was suggested at Michelle Malkin's blog:

A suggestion was made on the Hot Air blog that this can become a part of another popular group of signs (in East LA, anyway):

First, his own version of the presidential seal, now this. What's next? His own religion?

Oh, I forgot. That's already started.

Anti-Islamist Book review: The Last Patriot by Brad Thor

Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, just released "The Last Patriot" by Brad Thor.

The book's plot centers around a conspiracy by the islamists to prevent the discovery and release of muhammed's final chapters to the qu'ran, which were supposedly squelched by muhammed's assassination. The final revelation supposedly reveals a kinder, gentler islam, and the islamists want to suppress it because it will derail all they stand for.
Pure fantasy, I know, but the author weaves a credible plot with snippets of Thomas Jefferson, U.S. naval history and Cervantes' "Don Quixote" with a current anti-islamist theme. He even goes as far as naming the "Foundation for Islamic Relations (FAIR - rhymes with CAIR)" as a major participant in the plot. No punches pulled, here, no political correctness. I thoroughly enjoyed this book because it reveals the true nature of islam and the jihad.

Liberals would have you believe the source of the recent terrorism attacks on the USA are because of our government's "failed policy" overseas. As the rest of us are aware, jihad has been going on for hundreds of years against the USA and the west. See my post Islamic Jihad, 18th Century Style. Thomas Jefferson was well aware of the threat.

It also has a 'real man' as the lead character, a true American hero, something I'm sure Debbie Schlussel would enjoy reading. No girly men here.
I haven't read any fiction (except the New York Times) for many years, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

The author has been on the Glenn Beck show several times, and Beck has called him a 'dead man.' I urge you to read this book for some perspective on the threat of islam.

Just so you can separate the facts from the fiction, please understand the book is almost total fiction: the post 9-11 president in the book truly understands the threat of islam.

Obamessiah supporters surprised at McCain's surge in the polls

This paragraph from David Limbaugh says it all about the obamessiah campaign:

Obama's entire campaign theme is fraudulent. How can a man unite America when his views are so far out of line with average Americans for whom he has revealed unbridled contempt? How can he inspire America when he advertises his disdain for what he believes America has become?

Paris Hilton: See you at the debate, bitches...

Paris Hilton's comeback to Juan McCain's 'Obama the celebrity' ad. Probably old news by now, but very, very funny:

See more funny videos at Funny or Die

I'd vote for her, only because of the way she talks to, and about, the real candidates.

Either she has a really good writer and can read off a teleprompter like the Obamessiah, or she's really smart.

Either way, she's too skinny for us guys in the midwest. We like a little more meat on our women's bones.

Boycott Dhimmi Tyson Foods...

The management at Tyson Foods, distributors of many chicken products to the local grocer, have decided to not offer Labor Day as a paid holiday, but instead to offer an islamic day to accomodate the muslim (20 percent) faction of their workforce.

They also have prayer rooms so the muslims can pray during the workday without leaving the plant. Yikes. (h/t Debbie Schlussel) . Imagine if a Christian employee wanted to pray during the workday. He'd be ridden out of town on a rail.

Tyson Plant Drops Labor Day for Muslim Holiday
Tuesday, August 05, 2008

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. — Workers at a Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Tennessee have opted to trade a paid Labor Day holiday for the Muslim celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

A 5-year contract approved by members of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union at the Shelbyville, Tenn., plant last November includes the change to accommodate Muslim workers.

"The negotiating committee made the holiday a top priority in contract talks," the union's Alabama and Mid-South Council Representative Randy Hadley said in a statement issued in June. "And we were able to get management to commit to it."
The change, which does not affect the company's 118 other plants, exchanges Labor Day for the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. The new contract, negotiated last fall, also gives Muslim workers a prayer room.

"Eid al-Fitr is one of eight paid holidays for all team members covered by the contract, while Labor Day is not a paid holiday," Gary Mickelson, Tyson's media relations director, told the Shelbyville Times-Gazette.

This is the beginning of the end. Muslims immigrate to this country and do not want to blend into our society. Their goal is simply to replace our democracy with their theocracy of death, destruction and domination, islamic sharia law.

Boycott Tyson products. Let them know you don't approve of their dhimmi attitude on dealing with these members of the 'religion of peace.'

Our country was founded on Christian ethics and traditions, not the ass-backward religion from the middle east. Ironic, as Debbie Schlussel says, that a labor union would vote to not get paid for the very holiday that celebrates their existence.

Vote with your pocketbook -- reject Tyson for their dhimmitude.

I'm just curious why it took nine months for this to come to light in the press? Read the rest of the article here at Fox News.

Obamessiah's recipe for recession

From the Patriot Post's Friday Digest:

It’s being called a “recipe for recession” that will produce “a remarkable reduction in work incentives for our most economically productive citizens.” In fact, according to Michael J. Boskin, Stanford University economics professor, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, and former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, Barack Obama’s economic plan is evidence of “startling economic illiteracy.”

Under an Obama administration, taxpayers would witness the top 35 percent marginal income-tax rate jump to 39.6 percent and the tax cap blown off Social Security for individuals earning more than $250,000. Add this to Obama’s proposed phase-out of itemized deductions for high-income earners, and the result would be an increase in the combined marginal tax rate—from 44.6 percent to 62.8 percent—on every additional dollar earned. In short, after-tax income would plunge from 55.4 cents per dollar to only 37.2 cents.

To make matters worse, dividend rates would leap from 50.4 percent to 65.6 percent, with after-tax returns dropping over 30 percent—a combination that, according to Boskin, would “sooner or later... seriously damage the economy.”

Barack Obama has centered his campaign on change, and, indeed, if he is elected in November, taxpayers will be forking it over—lots of it.

Workers of the world unite! The proletariat will rise again!

Monday wisdom from the Gipper

“How can limited government and fiscal restraint be equated with lack of compassion for the poor? How can a tax break that puts a little more money in the weekly paychecks of working people be seen as an attack on the needy? Since when do we in America believe that our society is made up of two diametrically opposed classes—one rich, one poor—both in a permanent state of conflict and neither able to get ahead except at the expense of the other? Since when do we in America accept this alien and discredited theory of social and class warfare? Since when do we in America endorse the politics of envy and division?” —Ronald Reagan

(h/t to the Patriot Post)

My answer to that last question -- since the dhimmicrats came into power...
