"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers"

Shakespeare may have been a bit ahead of his time, according to a new article by rocker Ted Nugent posted at Human Events. In his "Sarah Palin Is My Girl" he expresses the thoughts many of us have -- there are too many lawyers in Washington. One would be too many, in my book.

We need fewer lawyers in Washington. Lawyers have created a masturbatory legal system by raping our justice system. It’s refreshing to see that neither Sen. McCain nor Gov. Palin is a lawyer. This could be a good start back towards an experiment in self-government. Count me in.
Attaboy, Nuge.

Palin made it clear that she is like the rest of us, noting how Fedzilla is bloated, broken, ineffective, and wasteful. Our professional politicians no longer work for us, but instead represent K Street bandit lobbyists. These scoundrels deserve our scorn, anger and contempt, and, quite honestly, a big, old pink slip, and Sarah appears to be the tough leader we seek to get the job done.

The level of disgust and distrust across America is appalling and, I believe, unprecedented. A recent poll indicated the Nancy Pelosi-led Congress’ approval rating is at an abysmal record low of nine percent. That it is even that high shows how clueless and disconnected the lunatic fringe is.

America needs more outsiders in Washington, D.C. now more than ever. We need more tough, standup hockey moms like Governor Sarah Palin. We need more ordinary Americans to springboard from small city councils to the halls of congress and beyond. We need welders, cops, teachers, ditch diggers, business people, construction workers, secretaries, auto mechanics, and guitar slingers to come to Washington, D.C. and replant the good old "We the People" tree.

Americans need to replace the professional politicians who have rigged and ruined the system to exclude ordinary citizens from participating in this experiment in self-government. My advice is to get angry and vote them all out. The professional punk politicians are the problem, not the solution.
Good reading. Read the whole article.

Sarah'Cuda Winged it: teleprompter broken during speech

From Redstate this morning comes this report saying the teleprompter didn't pause when it was supposed to during the 'Cuda's speech last night:

Halfway through Sarah Palin's speech tonight at the RNC, people following the speech noticed she was deviating from the prepared text.

According to sources close to the McCain campaign, the teleprompter continued scrolling during applause breaks. As a result, half way through the speech, the speech had scrolled significantly from where Governor Palin was in the speech. The malfunction also occurred during Rudy Giuliani's speech, explaining his significant deviations from his speech.

Unfazed, Governor Palin continued, from memory, to deliver her speech without the teleprompter cued to the appropriate point in her speech.

Contrast this to Barack Obama who, when last his teleprompter malfunctioned, was left stuttering before a crowd unable to advance his speech until the problem was resolved.

Sarah Palin. Winner.

As a Toastmaster and one who frequently has to give public presentations, I'm even more impressed now.

The lady has one more cajone than McCain and more than the obamessiah and hairplugs combined.

Unlike the lefty moonbats, we can laugh at ourselves

... and our pick for POTUS and VP. Enjoy. H/T Hot Air.

Debbie Schlussel: Wrong About Mrs. Mom

Debbie Schlussel seems to think she is the self-appointed defender of conservative values. In a column on her website this morning, she calls the Palins fake conservatives because of their untimely teen pregnancy and that Sarah should be the one at home raising the kids.

I will join the ranks of respectfully disagreeing with her on this issue. It's important that one biological parent is raising the kids, not a nanny or daycare.

I work out of my home, so I could be considered a house-husband (my wife works a full-time job) but I'm not giving up my testicles anytime soon. I can cook and clean with the best of them, but I also repair my own vehicles and go hunting with my gun and compound bow. I've never field-dressed a moose, but it sounds fun!

I don't think you can see the forest for the trees. The jury is still out on Palin's views of illegal immigration and islamofascism, but I suspect she'll have an impact on Juan McCain's views.
This is a victory for conservatives. Period. We need to go win the election and keep a dangerous man-child out of the white house.

There are plenty of other people to attack than one of our own. Save your vitriol for the messiah and the hairplug guy.

Sarah Barracuda: Slam Dunk

How could you not like the affable Sarah Palin, Republican VP candidate? Her speech tonight was brilliant, funny, entertaining, poignant... I think Joe Biden will have his hands full at the VP debate Oct. 2. Dhimmicrats better watch out.

Best line of the night:
"In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."
